Simple, as an online business, we minimise our overheads, and transfer the savings to you. Online prescription spectacles sales have taken the world by storm and now we've come to SA to continue that phenomenon.
If I am paying so much less how do I know what the quality will be like?
Our team at EasySpecsOnline.com is made up of a team of professional Optometrists, Optical Technicians and support staff who will ensure that your spectacles are manufactured to the highest standards. All our products comply with all internationally recognized Bureau of Standards eg CE, ISO 9002 and FDA Safety Standards. We value you. So, your spectacles will not be released for delivery before they have been thoroughly checked by one of our Optometrists. Our guarantees are unmatched too so you're covered.
So how do I go about using EasySpecsOnline.com?
Ok, see the bar to the left of the webpage listing all of our different frame categories? When you are finished reading here, click on a category you're interested in. It’ll take you to another page, showing all of the frames we stock in that category.
If you’d like more info about a specific frame, just click on it. Frame info as well as different lens and coating options will be available for your perusal. We can do anything your local optometrist can do, at a fraction of the price.
Ordering
See a frame you like? After selecting your lens type, single vision or bifocal (varifocals are currently available in JHB only, but watch this space) and lens coating options such as photochromic (Transition), fixed tints or anti-reflection, you can enter your prescription. This must be a valid prescription no older than 12 months that you have obtained from your optometrist or ophthalmologist. Remember, your prescription belongs to you. If you are having trouble entering your prescription, please contact us, and we will assist you.
For your peace of mind
We reserve the right to ask you to send us a hard copy of your prescription. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we will contact you directly should we require your script.
Why do I have to send you my prescription?
We know, it’s a mission. You’ve already entered your prescription details and they are correct. Right? We value you. In fact, we only exist to provide a service to you. Now imagine what would happen if we sent you specs that were the wrong prescription? We\’d be in deep trouble, and you’d never trust us again. And rightly so. So if we ask, please send us a hard copy of your prescription, so that we can verify the one you entered online and get it right, first time!
What’s Next?
You will see a price displayed on the bottom of your screen. This is the price you will pay, including VAT and delivery to your door (If you live in JHB, otherwise counter to counter postage included for the rest of SA) for your complete spectacles. Not a cent more.
Registering
After ordering a set of spectacles from us, you will be taken to a page asking you to register. This is so that we have your details on file, to complete your order. Your details remain secure as part of our privacy policy.
Payment
From here, you will be taken to a screen showing your order and the total price you need to pay. After clicking the "Buy Now" button, you will be sent to a third party site run by "Virtual Card Services". Check out our privacy statement for more info on VCS. VCS will process your order. We let them do it because they have top security and handle thousands of transaction a day, so they are really good at it. Once payment is complete, you will be automatically directed back to EasySpecsOnline.com.
And lastly?
We will notify you when your specs are ready, either to be delivered to your door or to your closest post office.
When will we deliver?
We will deliver within 28 days maximum. It doesn’t normally take anymore than about 5 working days, but in the event of a very complex prescription we need to give ourselves the extra time.
What if I’m not happy?
Send them back. You can send back your complete spectacles within 14 days from when we sent them to you for a full refund or a new pair of spectacles. Check out our "Returns Policy" for more info here.
